The Bund

This extends from Jinling Road in the south to the Waibaidu Bridge over the Suzhou Creek in the north, is on the western bank of the Huangpu River. It is a 1.5-kilometer boulevard and used to be called the Huangpu Shoal. It used to be a 10-meter-wide boulevard lined with canopy-like sycamores. Cedars, cassias, and camphor trees made the street green all the year round. Flower beds were always in blossoms. Now it becomes the favored place for the tourists to tarry and enjoy the river scene and cultural activities going on along the Bund. Walking up to the dam, you will be fascinated by the sight of forest of masts, the glittering waves, the impressive skyline, and shadowy trees interlacing with beautiful flowers. The Bund---known as a miniature museum of international architecture with dozens of high buildings standing along the shore and overlooking the shuttling sailing vessels on the Huangpu River amid the whistle blasts here and there.
Yuyuan Mart

It is situated in the tip of Lujiazui of the east shore of Huang-pu River, looking from the other side of the river is the New Bund. The height of the tower is 468 meters, occupies the first place in Asia, the third place in the world.
The high tower is supported by three columns with a diameter of 9 meters and three oblique braces with a diameter of 7 meters intersected in 60¡¯ to the ground, piercing straight to the clouds and sky. The People¡¯s Square
It is situated in the center of Shanghai city proper and the south side of People`s Park. The total area is nearly 13 hectares; it is the political, cultural, commercial center and the hub of traffic.

The Shanghai Museum
It was originally housed within the City Library on Nanjing Road until 1995. This spectacular building is now the centerpiece of People¡¯s Square. Nangjing Road
It was the first commercial road in Shanghai. In the early 20th century, there were only four department stores along this stretch. Today, it has become the number one place for shopping in the city. The money at work in the road has encouraged many companies and businesses over the years to set up bases near here. Nanjing Road is fantastically located, stemming off the Huangpu River and the Bund at a right angle and linking the city¡¯s main commercial and residential districts to the mouth of the river. The road to the east of Xizang Road is called Nanjing Dong Road while the road to the west is known as Nanjing Xi Road.
Jade Buddha Temple
The Jade Buddha Temple (Yufo Si) was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1875-1909) and burned down in the early 20th century. In 1918, Jade Buddha Temple was rebuilt on Anyuan Road. The construction of the temple is in the magnificent architectural style of the Song Dynasty. The temple is composed of several compounds such as the Halls of Heavenly Kings, the Main Hall, the Hall of the Sleeping Buddha and the Hall of the Jade Buddha. Here many ancient statues, paintings, a complete set of Buddhist scriptures (printed in the Qing Dynasty), and over 7000 other rare scriptures are kept.
